Virginia-based gourmet seafood firm The Van Cleve Seafood Co. said Tuesday it launched its products into 91 Safeway locations.
Its eight products include the Chesapeake Scallop and Bacon Pie, five seafood sauces and marinades, and the company's signature Chesapeake Blue Crab Pie.
"So many of our customers were fearful of cooking seafood," said Monica Van Cleve-Talbert, one of the two daughters in the family company.
"We created our sauces and easy to prepare recipes to give them the confidence to cook more seafood and also to try new varieties maybe once outside of their comfort zone."
