Authorities in Uruguay have issued a health alert for listeria monocytogenes found in frozen smoked salmon.
Ready-to-eat, 100-gram packs of Chilean salmon were processed by Chile's Salmones Aucar and imported by Canelones, Uruguay-based Mar Austral.
Packs carry fabrication dates running from 08/11 to 01/12/2018.
The products are being withdrawn from sale, and the public is being advised not to consume them and return items to the point of sale.
