Grimsby-based seafood processor Seachill, owner of The Saucy Fish brand, has won a £50 million (€56.1 million/$65.7 million) contract with Tesco to supply its chilled shellfish business, sources confirmed to IntraFish.

The company will take over the supply contract, which covers all chilled shrimp and other shellfish in Tesco, from Redditch, Worcestershire-based Blue Earth Foods, in October, sources said.

Simon Smith, CEO of Seachill, told IntraFish he was unable to comment on the news.

Processing of the shellfish contract will take place at the company’s facilities in Grismby, which are currently undergoing significant expansion.
