salmonALTHOUGH salmon prices took a dip in August, by early September they had climbed back up to around NOK30 ($5.10) per kg on average, which is better than expected. The main reason for this somewhat unexpected development seems to be that a number of farmers in Norway have been holding back on harvesting due to low prices in August.

However, harvesting will be stepped up this month, and it is uncertain how this will affect prices. In November, as we move into the Christmas buying season, prices should stay high.
