Salmon sales in US supermarkets boomed during the 52 weeks ending April 2, 2016, according to new data provided exclusively to IntraFish from the Nielsen Perishables Group, which tracks sales in key US grocery, mass/supercenter and club chains
Overall the salmon category accounted for 15.9 percent of total US retail seafood sales, with average weekly sales of $1,155 (€1,039) per store, a 9 percent increase from the previous year. The eastern and western parts of the country had the strongest weekly sales.
In
