Jose Antonio Camposano, head of Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura (National Chamber of Aquaculture) in Ecuador, said the recently signed free trade agreement (FTA) between Ecuador and the European Union came right on time.
The agreement came into force with the New Year and both Ecuadorian shrimp and tuna exporters are set to benefit from it.
“This agreement comes in at a very good time because we're facing the elimination of the tariffs,” Camposano told IntraFish. “The agreement will replace that with a long-term deal that will bring security to exporters.”
