The Louisiana seafood industry is working hard to get its name out there, according to Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board Assistant Executive Director Ben Mitchell.

In his presentation to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Shrimp Task Force Marketing Subcommittee last week -- attended via webinar by IntraFish -- Mitchell said the state's industry has seen plenty of airtime in 2016.

This past spring, the board created America's Seafood Coast Guard, encouraging consumers to "Know Better, Eat Better" by learning about the benefits of domestic seafood.
