Lion Capital, a British private-equity firm named accountable in a lawsuit against tuna price-fixing that included Bumble Bee Foods, urged a California district judge to let it out of allegations made against it by the Cherokee Nation.

Law 360 reports Lion Capital and related companies argued that the allegations against them from the Cherokee Nation are not triable, and should be dropped.

Court documents said the plantiffs' decision to "sue the Lion entities after the plea was announced reveals they are searching for a deep pocket in light of Bumble Bee’s difficult financial circumstances."
