The Midland Hotel, located in Lancashire in Northwest England, is hosting its first Seafood Festival in what will hopefully be an annual tradition, its General Manager Mark Needham told IntraFish.

Here, Needham speaks about what he hopes the festival does for the region, what trends he's seeing and what is the best way to promote seafood nowadays.

How did the Seafood Festival idea come about? What do you hope to accomplish with it?
The main reason really was Morecambe Bay is a renowned area for Morecambe Bay shrimp and  there’s nothing here that really celebrates local food and seafood, so we thought it was a good opportunity to really showcase what great local seafood we have, not just to those in Northwest England but for all of the UK.
