Italian consumers are enjoying more seafood than in years prior, but high prices kept a lid on what might have been more robust growth, according to Euromonitor International’s latest research.

Compared with the 2010 - 2015 review period, total volume growth in 2015 was higher, as consumers increasingly enjoyed fish and seafood, especially at home, where it is certainly more affordable, enabling some types of fish, such as tuna, flounder, cod and hake, imported sea bass and sea bream and octopus, to grow in volume terms.
