The University of Georgia Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant are teaming up to launch a revamped Georgia Seafood Directory, that links restaurateurs and retailers with suppliers of local Georgia seafood.
The directory is a free voluntary listing of seafood supply companies located in Georgia. It enables chefs, restaurateurs, grocery stores, seafood markets, caterers and others to source locally harvested or farmed seafood or locate Georgia-based seafood companies.
The directory can be particularly beneficial for smaller seafood seafood businesses, the groups said — after all, researching lucrative inland-Georgia markets, such as Atlanta, can take more time, manpower and resources than they have available.
