The Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) is touting its first successes with its consumer campaign in Germany -- but some German industry members say the effort could do more harm than good.

"The GAPP campaign doesn't have a high level of acceptance over here," one source at a German processor told IntraFish. "It's twisting the facts. I believe it's inappropriate to pit the two resources against each other.

"It's damaging for the whole whitefish sector."

GAPP launched the marketing blitz in early 2016.
