A CHILEAN processor has invested in a liquid ice machine for cooling and glazing ‘choritos’ – a famous Chilean mussel product.

The machine, installed at Pesquera Agromar’s plant in Chiloe Island, was developed with Profrio Ingenieria en Refrigeracion – France-based Geneglace’s agent in Chile.

Geneglace developed the machine based on a vertical fix cylinder. After production, the ice is stored in a bin and can be pumped for distribution to various points.

The machine can be operated with seawater; the liquid ice can be pumped, allowing the plant to be installed outside and easy distribution of the ice to various points in the factory.
