CREEL manufacturer Gael Force at Stornoway says its creels are in strong demand from the UK home market and from as far afield as Sweden, Norway, Southern Ireland, United States and New Zealand.
A fully automated frame production system manufactures on average 1500 lobster, brown crab, prawn and velvet crab creels each week. Made from either 6mm, 8mm 10mm diameter steel bars, Gael Force pot frames include 22in, 24in, 26in, 30in and 36in versions.
Gael Force's Creel Divison Director, Ewen France, said that 90% of the factory's production is netted, rubbered or roped to customers' requirements by a workforce of 55.
