Until being constrained by rocketing fuel prices, boat sales continued to be fairly buoyant, with most activity along the west coast of Scotland and in particular the Western Isles.

The recent arrival at Stornoway of Rambling Rose and Sincerity has brought the local prawn trawl fleet back up to strength.

Murdo MacDonald has bought Rambling Rose BCK 21 from Kilkeel skipper Bobby McBride to replace his previous boat, the 17m Sharon Rose SY 190, which Barra skipper Alex MacNeil bought earlier this year ('Boats On The Move', 18 April).
