THE LATEST Typhoon 38 from Cygnus Marine is a salmon farm workboat named Shanmhari for Shetland owner John Goodlad.
Powered by a Scania DS12 turbo charged 575hp diesel, the 38ft workboat made a top speed of 23 knots in light-ship condition on recent sea trials.
She has a five ton feed hopper mid-decks and a Palfinger hydraulic crane aft. The Scania diesel has been fitted as far forward as possible to position the hopper amidships, said Cygnus's Ernie Cooke, who first met Mr Goodlad at a GRP boat building conference in the Azores many years ago.
