A new set of sensors from Scanmar (stand D16) for doors and footropes are due to be available later this year following extensive development and trials at sea.
These including a trial trip with Norwegian triple rig trawler Arctic Swan at the beginning of this year after initial trials using the prototype sensors aboard J Bergvoll and the Norwegian research ship GO Sars.
Skipper Knut Ove 0yra tells Scanmar that he believes "the combination of bottom contact and angle sensors will revolutionise trawl fishing".
