AUTOMATED longlining has long been an important fish catching method in Norway's offshore fisheries. So, while I was in Aalesund recently, I called in to see John Ragnar Larsen, manager of Mustad's sales and service branch office in this important fishing and fish-processing centre.

"Around 90 to 96 per cent of Norway's Autoliners operate from the areas around Aalesund and Maaloy - two-thirds from here (Aalesund) and one third from Maaloy, " he tells me.

"Mustad has 100 per cent of the market in baiting machines and hook separators.
