ANOTHER new design of Poly-Ice trawl door from Iceland is being tested. This design, named Viking, is from the same family as the double-foil El Cazador-type and it is a "high spreading and efficient trawl door suitable for hard bottom fishing, " FNI is told.
Four pairs of Viking doors have been under test in recent months in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Scotland, says Atli Mar Josafatsson, sales and marketing manager, of Poly-Ice which is now owned by Reykjavik-based gear manufacturer Hampidjan.
