FROZEN fish shredded at -25degrees C is being used to produce 'tea bag' processed baits for longlining by the company Adlodun (Attraction) in Iceland.
Its new technology could have far-reaching applications, however, as it can be used for manufacturing fish farm feed and even very high-quality single frozen human consumption products, such as fish burgers.
The process relies on shredding frozen blocks to produce a kind of fish 'snow' and its first use is in the production of baits for longliners.
