The new Herøyhav was christened at a ceremony at Herøy in Norway, delivered in December by the Karstensens yard at Skagen in Denmark for the Ervik family. The new purser-trawler replaces an older vessel of the same name built in 1999. The contract with the yard was signed in early 2012 and the hull arrived in Skagen in July last year for fitting out.
Herøyhav is run by the Ervik family, with their first boat, Herøytrål, acquired in 1959 by Rolf Ervik and Rolf-Jarle Ervik who heads the company today became a partner in 1974.
