Spain and Turkey will strengthen their fisheries cooperation to enable regional organizations to “design strategies in the medium and long term that consider financial sustainability in both the fishing and the aquaculture sectors,” reports La Vanguardia.

Alberto Lopez Asenjo, Spain’s general secretary of fisheries, and Nusret Yazici, Turkey’s under-secretary of the ministry of food, agriculture and livestock, met in the Turkish city of Ankara to discuss the fisheries situation of both countries.

At the meeting, Lopez Asenjo invited Yazici to visit Conxemar, in Vigo, later this year, to see first-hand the relevance of the fisheries sector in Spain.
