There was an unprecedented movement of scallop dredgers in 2005 with vessel transfers in the fleet accounting for the largest proportion of UK sales in the second half of the year.

The change in ownership of a few clammers in the early summer sparked a torrent of sales, the momentum of which was further boosted in the autumn by the arrival of two new scallopers, Rois Mhairi and Georgia Dawn.

Georg Lou-N TN 38 was one of the first scallopers to be sold this year, when Graeme Perkes of Seafield Emiel Trawlers, Brixham, bought the steel-hulled vessel from Tom Nicholson of Annan.
