WHELK pot manufacturer Portzic Pots based in south Devon continues to manufacture the top quality stackable whelk pot which is rated as "top gear" by many of the country's leading whelk catchers.
The pot was designed almost five years ago by the firm's proprietor Phil Allwood when he was whelk fishing, with no aspirations to become a pot manufacturer.
He searched for a high quality long lasting pot, built with common sense for easy clearing and deck stacking. He also needed a pot with plenty of weight to increase the catch rate.
