Ice Trawl Greenland, a joint venture company owned 50 percent by Royal Greenland and 50 percent by a group of private individuals in Greenland, bought a new longline fishing vessel to operate off the coast of eastern Greenland.
The vessel Masilik, which was previously called Carisma Viking and owned by Carisma Fish in Norway, will mainly fish for cod and tusk in eastern Greenland, and will have a small quota for cod off the coast of western Greenland.
The longliner, which started fishing on May 20, is a vessel measuring 50 meters by 11 meters and has holding capacity of up to 450 metric tons
In addition, the Masilik has space on board for 11 crew members.
