EXPORPLAS SA, which manufactures twisted polyethylene twines and ropes, may start producing braided products.
Also, this Portuguese company is looking into setting up a factory in Mozambique.
"We are contemplating making braided twines," confirms Eduardo Marques, Exporplas' commercial director.
"A study has been made and it's a project for next year."
Talking about Mozambique, a former Portuguese territory, he tells FNI that a proposed rope and twine making factory there would most likely be set-up at Beira, which has a railway and harbour.
The plan is to begin making polyethylene ropes and twines, probably in 2000, for marketing in southern Africa and elsewhere.
