SKIPPER Bob Mainprize Jnr and the crew of the Scarborough trawler Maggie M SH 170 landed 1620 boxes of whitefish into Hanstholm, Denmark, on Monday this week to establish a new record for the 20 year old trawler, reports David Linkie.
The previous biggest trip by this vessel had been 1250 boxes.
One of the renowned Campbeltown 87 designs, the 26.54m Maggie M was launched in 1987 for Bob Mainprize’s father, Bob Snr.
Maggie M’s record breaking nine-day trip started when the trawler left Hanstholm on 6 February.
