LEADING safety equipment manufacturer Pains-Wessex of Portsmouth, England, has launched a version of the Ocean Sentry Radar Target Enhancer (RTE) which warns if other vessels are nearby.
A feature of the Ocean Sentry enhancer to be shown at ExpoPESCA 98 is a control panel to provide both audible and visual indication that the Ocean Sentry is operating and that the vessel is being interrogated by a radar.
Part of the new Pains-Wessex Safety Systems range, the Ocean Sentry is small and lightweight, yet it can magnify its image by up to 800 per cent to show a solid and consistent image on a ship's radar at a distance of up to 12 n.
