Gérard Romiti now has two roles as president of both the Corsican and national committees. In addition, he also serves as a Prudhomme, part of an ancient structure in France that now only remains in the Mediterranean regions.

 

“I went to sea on my father’s boat when I was fourteen,” he recalled. “Then it was school and the merchant navy college in Marseilles before two years of national service in the Navy. After that I was in the merchant navy for three years and went several times around the world,” he said.
