UK-BASED pot manufacturer Mickey Hill of Teignmouth, Devon, has introduced a circular plastic whelk pot with an internal capacity of eight gallons and a wall thickness of 7 mm.
"Extensive sea trials have already taken place, with very good catches. I've even driven my van over one and not broken the plastic. It's the hardest wearing pot on the market and, at £24 (about $43) ready to go in the water, it's the best buy, " he claims.
The pot is made from highgrade plastic, rotary moulded by the nearby firm Anchor Marine which produces dhan buoys and buffs.
