SINCE being introduced at the start of this year demand for Amble Pots' new plastic based and framed crab and lobster creels has rapidly escalated, as skippers hear of and see the advantages of the new time saving product, writes

Partners Dave Moore and Malcolm Laverick developed the idea of making creels from plastic after seeing the costs and loss of time with wooden pots being quickly eroded by marine worms and metal pots suffering from corrosion.

After developing his initial idea for two years, prototype bases were manufactured by Scarborough company Osprey Ltd, using high density polyethylene Rigidex.
