Nueva Pescanova is a portion of the €125 million ($132.3 million) outlined in the company’s strategic plan 2016-2020, to renew its fleets in Namibia and Mozambique, reports Faro De Vigo.

The company is asking for proposals from the Galician shipyards Armon Vigo, Freire and Nodosa to renovate eight vessels.

From the €125 million ($132.3 million) provided by the strategic plan €42.5 million ($45 million) will be for the partial renewal of the fishing fleet.

On average, the 72 vessels in the group are older than 30 years, but there will only be money for the vessels in Namibia and Mozambique.
