Pains-Wessex is one of the three sponsors of the Fishing News Bravery Award which will be presented on 31 March during the FISHING 2000 Cabaret Evening in Glasgow. The other sponsors are Cosalt and Swan Net.
The award, which has been launched by Fishing News , will be presented annually to recognise an outstanding act of courage by a British or Irish fisherman carried out in the course of fishing activities.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) welcomed the creation of the award saying: "The MCA joins the sponsors in congratulating the recipients of this award and in acknowledging other unsung heroes who have battled against the elements to rescue or assist their colleagues.
