Scott and Paul Wharton's new boat Our Olivia Belle BD 277, built by Miller (Methil) Ltd, has taken modern inshore vessels onto the next level.
Not only is the Bideford-based twin rig trawler the biggest sub-15m vessel in the UK fleet, it has also been built and fitted-out to a very high specification in order to promote greater catch quality and crew safety, together with low maintenance requirements.
While waiting to be launched on the slipway at St Monans the sheer size of Our Olivia Belle's double chine hull, in which the hull frames are carried up to the level of the extensive steel shelterdeck, was there for all to see.
