Skippers George Tait, Zander West and Jim Watt brought the 61m pelagic trawler Ocean Quest BF 77, into their home port of Fraserburgh last Saturday morning.
This gave sufficient time for the crew to take aboard the vessel's midwater trawls, wires, warps, doors, etc before completing fishing trials in the Buchan Deeps before Christmas. Proving Ocean Quest's fishing credentials will get underway immediately in the New Year when the main mackerel season gets underway.
She completed the 1000 mile delivery trip from Bilbao in surprisingly good weather in 80 hours, easing the speed back on the last night to coincide with high water at Fraserburgh and daybreak.
