Kvannøy signals something of a change of direction, as the previous 2002 newbuilding to carry the same name was sold the the Faroes Islands in 2012 was a pelagic factory vessel with freezing on board, while the new one is an RSW purser/trawler with the focus on landing fresh catches.
In the meantime, the company fished with the former Haugagut, built in 1989, renamed Kvannøy in the interim, but since given the name Senior and this vessel is now up for sale.
