“They bought the trawler in Scotland and took it to Ijmuiden first,” Patrick Koopman of the Luyt yard explained.
“We won the tender and the boat was brought here at the beginning of the year.”
Built at the Macduff yard in Scotland in 2000, the 24.80m by 8.20m beam Minerva is keeping its original name as it leaves Europe for South America.
The refit at the Luyt yard saw Minerva’s deck layout changed, with the net drums that had been located on the foredeck at the head of trawl lanes leading under the wheelhouse removed and fitted at the stern over the deck.
