The latest addition to HB Grandi’s Icelandic fleet, Venus NS-150, is due to reach its home port of Vopnafjördur in the middle of May.
Thórarinn Sigurbjörnsson who oversaw the vessel’s construction at the Celiktrans Deniz Insaat claimed the sea trials had gone well, with the focus on fine tuning the new ship’s systems.
‘We tested the main engine, the reduction gear and the stern gear, as well as a load test on the shaft generator. In addition, we carried out tests on the thrusters, the steering, the RSW system, the C-Flow vacuum pump discharging systems, plus the navigation and control systems in the wheelhouse,” he said.
