In September 2015, Intermarche-owned Scapêche, France’s largest fishing fleet launched its new 41.7 meter trawler Jean-Pierre Le Roch, a vessel equipped with technologies to make it more energy efficient and more versatile.

It has also been designed to meet any future sustainability criteria.

The Mousquetaires Group, which owns both Intermarche and Scapêche, invested €8.5 million ($9 million) in the construction of the vessel.

It is named after Jean-Pierre Le Roch, the founder of the Mousquetaires Group.

Designed by Coprexma in Pont-l'Abbé, France, and built in Spain at Armon Shipyards, the vessel replaces two of Scapêche’s 33-meter trawlers -- Pierre-Jacques Matigny and Claude-Moinier II --  which at 25 years old have been decommissioned from the fleet.
