ICELAND'S Marel hf has acquired the UK-based food equipment companies AEW Thurne (AEW) and Delford Sortaweigh (Delford) from the AEW Delford Group.
"This is Marel's first strategic move to implement its new target of becoming a leading global manufacturer of food processing equipment, and to triple annual revenues over the next three to five years, " the company tells FNI.
AEW Thurne and Delford Sortaweigh will operate as AEW Delford Systems Ltd. after the acquisition.
The companies' products are manufactured in the UK at Harwich and Norwich.
