Portland, Maine-based Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) will be stopping its annual lobster landing forecast following concerns over the report's accuracy, according to Maine Public news.
State regulators and the lobster sector asked GMRI to do this in 2012 and the institute released predictions in 2015 and 2016, but predictions were off in certain fishing areas, according to the news site.
