As Petter Geir Smådal, skipper and one of the owners, commented; “We don’t build new ships every year and therefore we put our heart and soul into getting the best ship possible.”

He added that the emphasis has been on building a vessel that will be safe and profitable, and he is confident they have achieved that.

“We have had a very close and good co-operation with Havyard throughout and now have an awesome ship that we are really proud of. We hope as many as possible come on board and take closer look at the ship,” he said as the open day commenced.

The company acquired its first vessel in 1967 and the new Smaragd is sixth in the series, and as with the previous two, the latest vessel is built in Norway.
