SCOTLAND'S latest Norwegian-built pelagic ship Lunar Bow (PD 265) was due to switch to North Sea mackerel fishing last month after testing her systems on Atlanto-Scandian herring under Skipper Alex Buchan.

The 61 metre Lunar Bow for the Lunar Bow Fishing Co. replaces Skipper Alex Buchan's previous 50 metre ship of the same name, which was sold to Iceland earlier this year.

The licence from this vessel was aggregated with another three pelagic licences to build the new purser-trawler.

Lunar Bow was completed by Simek AS of Flekkefjord and designed by Norwegian consultants Vik-Sandvik in conjunction with the builders and Skipper Buchan.
