THE new 87ft Ardent II INS 127 (pictured) for Hopeman skipper Hamish McPherson, in partnership with Grampian Sea Fishing of Elgin, was launched at Campbeltown Shipyard. She was the sistership to Andromeda II which was handed over to Skipper Angus Davidson in November last year.
THE Irish Fishermen's Organisation led a 300strong march through Cork in protest at regulations on salmon fishing sparked off by a two-month prison sentence received by a Waterford fisherman. The IFO believed the regulations were unconstitutional because a fisherman charged under them had to prove his innocence.
