The Killybegs father-and-son team of Pat and Shaun Conneely brought their impressive new white fish twin-rig stern-ramp trawler Mark Amay SO 954 into their home port in Christmas week following the vessel's delivery trip from Denmark. Built by Karstensens Skibsvaerft A/S of Skagen, the 38m Mark Amay is the largest boat to be built under Ireland's white fish fleet renewal scheme, reports David Linkie.

Skippers Pat and Shaun Conneely expect to be targeting non-quota species in the deeper water to the west of Ireland and Scotland with their new command.
