FLEETWOOD fish merchants AM Fish Selling has closed citing heavy competition and a shortage of supplies.
The firm acted as agents for trawlers selling their fish on the dock and undertook administrative jobs including ensuring that crews were paid.
A total of eight jobs have been lost following the closure, but there is hope that some of the staff will find similar work on the docks.
Company director Mark Merrick said: "The volume of fishing going through Fleetwood has diminished significantly and the price we can get in the market has been of concern.
