The loss of Skipper Kevin West from the Fraserburgh pair seiner Ryanwood on Sunday 26 April stunned the fishing communities of north east Scotland.
Kevin’s positive outlook on life, ready smile and alert sense of humour could always be relied on to brighten up the bleakest winter morning on any quay and put the latest challenge facing the fishing industry into perspective.
Kevin West was born in 1965 in the small fishing village of Inverallochy, where he gained his first childhood experiences of fishing and the sea, which soon became the backbone of his life.
