CHALLENGE is the latest in a long line of pelagic vessels built for the Taits and their Fraserburgh-based Klondyke Fishing Co.
After fishing with the Forbes-built drifter/seiner Fertile FR (305), which was bought secondhand from Peterhead, Andra Tait and his sons Andra, Robert and Willie in 1968 built their first seine netter/purser, the 85ft Conquest (FR 1).
Three years later Willie Tait took delivery from Norway's Sigbjorn Iversen yard of the 87ft whitefish seiner/purser Challenge (FR 77), which more than 30 years on gives her name to the newest vessel.
