The new 23m prawn trawler John B DA 39 built for Bill and Pat Price of Skerries near Howth on the east coast of Ireland has been designed for flexibility of both fishing method and grounds fished. She is capable of single, twin or triple rig trawling on inshore or offshore grounds.
John B has three split net drums on the aft end of the virtually full length shelterdeck, with the catch being lifted aboard over the transom stern, and is a simple but very effectively laid out vessel.
