Denmark -- from where a steady stream of new pelagic and demersal vessels has come from in recent years -- is in the news again as the Scottish Lunar Fishing Company awaits the completion of the impressive looking hull of the 78-meter King’s Cross, at the Karstensens shipyard, which will later this year come to Peterhead to join the company’s Lunar Bow pelagic trawler/purser.
By this time next year, the same company will be continuing its relationship with this yard as it nears completion of another 78-meter pelagic vessel, Pathway, also for delivery to the Peterhead fishing company.
